Coretta Scott king book awards

Reading Coretta’s Books is a project-based curriculum designed to support state and National Standards at any grade level.  It can be used to motivate, inform, and help young people, teachers, parents and academians find a rich resource of diverse titles covering the life and legacies of African Americans and their culture.

Online visitors will find this project-based curriculum useful as they provide readers with books to satisfy their “thirst” for reading, seek out role-models with whom they can identify, and offer assistance to teachers when ideas for projects and student grouping are discussed.

To foster an understanding of diverse cultures and develop a greater appreciation for the contribution of African American authors, illustrators, and their literature.

All students will be able to learn and relate from the Coretta Scott King Book Award titles.
