Bobby Guthrie

CoFounder

Bobby Guthrie is a Gastonia native, graduating from Highland High School in Gastonia, NC. He then attended Winston-Salem State University and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and a Certification in Administration. Mr. Guthrie is now a retired administrator with Gaston County Schools and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Dorothy “Dot” Guthrie

CoFounder & Curator

Dot Guthrie is a librarian and retired supervisor for Gaston County Schools. Also, she worked for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Clover School Districts. Mrs. Guthrie is a member of the Coretta Scott King Book Awards, the Black Caucus of the American Library Association and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Currently, she is a member of the Gaston Board of Education and is the Museum Curator.
